Runecast Solutions Ltd., a leading cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) vendor for virtualized, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, announces the promotion of Markus Strauss to the role of Chief Product Officer (CPO).
This new role at Runecast marks the expansion of its executive team as the company continues to scale up to deliver advanced, AI-driven vulnerability management and security compliance capabilities to its customers.
"We are thrilled to have Markus join our executive team," said Stanimir Markov, CEO of Runecast. "His expertise in building and scaling high-growth companies, combined with his experience leading in the areas of regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, product innovation, and talent management, make him the ideal leader to guide our product strategy and bring new solutions to the market."
Since January 2022, Mr. Strauss served Runecast as Head of Product Management and Acting VP of Marketing. Before joining Runecast, he held the roles of Senior Manager of Product Management at SolarWinds and Product Manager at McAfee, as well as sales and engineering roles with Trend Micro and Symantec. He also served as an International Advisory Board Member for Cyber Rescue Alliance.
"I look forward to continuing to work with the team to deliver highly valuable security, compliance and IT operations solutions," said Mr. Strauss, newly appointed CPO of Runecast. "These need to align with our customers' and partners' needs for better visibility and a more coherent approach to managing risk and attack surfaces across the increasingly complex modern infrastructure."
In his new role as CPO, Mr. Strauss will report directly to the CEO and will continue to lead both the Product and Marketing teams. He will be responsible for product strategy and execution, guiding product, brand, and go-to-market (GtM) strategies and bringing new and innovative solutions to the market that help organizations to effectively mitigate their risk across their entire infrastructure. He brings to Runecast more than 15 years of enterprise experience in helping to build software solutions, particularly from companies that focus on cybersecurity.
Mr. Markov added, “As a B2B software company with a powerful platform that caters to highly technical buyers, it is important for us to have a unified approach to both product and marketing. It makes sense for Runecast, at this phase, to combine these efforts under one umbrella and one exceptional leader.” As a product and cyber security veteran, Strauss's expertise in enterprise software, engineering, and scaling rapid-growth companies will be instrumental in helping Runecast deliver value to its customers.
As Runecast expands its position as a leading CNAPP vendor, continuing to enhance its capabilities to proactively discover and remediate vulnerabilities and noncompliances, Strauss will be responsible for initiatives that correspond with the company's continued growth.
This organizational change coincides with the promotion of several other team members to leadership roles in the Product and Marketing teams.
