The letter asks Obama to achieve an agreement that the two countries will no longer use the "veil of national security" to pass economic policies that restrict competition.
Beijing has recently introduced various measures dictating what kind of products are allowed to be used there. And in July, China's legislature adopted a broad national security law that included measures to tighten cybersecurity for all "key network infrastructure and information systems."
"China has increasingly pursued policies that have adversely affected the ability of U.S. ICT firms (and the companies that rely on them) to do business in China," the groups wrote.
