Dive Insight:
Analytics for big data are becoming increasingly complex and decentralized, said Tony Baer, principal analyst of Information Management at Ovum.
"The partnership of Alation and Teradata is meant to address this by combining machine learning, collaboration, and crowdsourcing to build smart catalogs that help point business end users to the right queries and the right data,” Baer said, the Dayton Business Journal reported.
Teradata provides end-to-end solutions and services in data warehousing, big data and analytics designed to enable companies to become more data-driven.
CIOs may welcome this kind of solution. A recent report from CompTIA found that companies are progressing in their adoption of big data and analytics and moving forward with broader adoption. But companies still face challenges, such as figuring out how to manage the deluge of data generated. About 75% of survey respondents said their businesses “would be stronger if they could harness all of their data.”
