"In particular for tech jobs, companies across all industries are hiring workers for these needed positions, including employers in healthcare, finance, manufacturing, retail and more," said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor Chief Economist, in a press release. "Any organization today with a mobile app, web presence or digitized data are struggling to fill jobs like data scientists, software engineers and mobile developers."
Dive Insight:
Tech jobs are hot. And as company’s leverage tech to gain competitive advantages, they will only become more popular and incentivized.
Glassdoor is not the only company seeing this trend. An analysis released earlier this month from CareerBuilder and labor market data provider Emsi also found IT jobs lead the list of the hottest occupations for 2017. According to that report, IT has experienced 12% job growth since 2012, the fastest job growth of any industry.
The Glassdoor Job Score is determined using three key factors: earning potential based on median annual base salary, job satisfaction rating and number of job openings.
