Dive Insight:
TEKsystems’ quarterly survey on IT market conditions found 2015 continues to see improvements in IT budget. In less positive news, the survey also found overall IT hiring has slowed at the mid-year point. While 48% of CIOs said they would increase hiring at the beginning of 2015, that number dropped to 36% halfway through the year, the firm noted.
“Hiring seems to have hit a summertime lull, as fewer leaders expect hiring to increase in the third quarter after a significant uptick at the end of March. However, it is good to see the number of IT leaders that expect budget increases is surpassing what they had originally predicted at the end of 2014,” said TEKsystems Research Manager Jason Hayman.
