- The primary reason for the transition is to make SUPERVALU more competitive in the grocery market, but other goals of the transformation include reducing costs and improving flexibility.

A recent survey from Quickbase indicated digital transformation is a priority for 97% of C-level respondents, and it's easy to understand why. Moving from mainframe technology to a more flexible, highly-scalable cloud platform has been proven to improve efficiencies and competitiveness.
But digital transformation is not easy or cheap. And though companies must manage ties to legacy systems and rigid organizational silos to find success, the movement is gaining traction.
International Data Corporation (IDC), which recently predicted worldwide spending on digital transformation technologies could reach $2 trillion by 2020.
