Dive Insight:
SAP is working to shift its traditional enterprise software experience and create more mobile-focused solutions.
Earlier this month, SAP announced it will partner will Apple to develop iOS native enterprise apps for iPhones and iPads using SAP’s HANA platform and will introduce dozens of enterprise applications, including both industry specific and more general apps. Steve Lucas, SAP’s president for platform solutions, said the industry specific apps will include areas such as health care and retail.
Previously only used by a small test group in China, SAP Anywhere works to seamlessly integrate services, allowing companies to both better market and sell products.
SAP Anywhere includes built-in integrations with eBay and Amazon for online selling, PayPal for payments services, MailChimp and Constant Contact for marketing services and Google for online advertising. A deal with UPS is also in the works. Such services can help small businesses more easily deploy and manage critical retail-related services.
