“This is a seminal release for Office and one you won’t want to wait to deploy to your users,” said Julia White, general manager of Office 365 Technical Product Management.
It will also enable greater collaboration between workers.
"These latest innovations take another big step forward in transforming Office from a familiar set of individual productivity apps to a connected set of apps and services designed for modern working, collaboration and teamwork," Microsoft Chief Executive Satya Nadella said.
Office 365 subscribers can choose to download the new Office 2016 apps as part of their subscription, Microsoft said.
