Dive Insight:
Increasing confidence, increasing budgets and increasing inclusion of IT in overall business processes and decisions were three very positive finds of the study.
"We're seeing a better relationship between IT and the business -- they are engaging with IT on the front end and working as partners," Jason Hayman, research manager for TEKsystems, told CIO. "Because of that, there's no secret as to what the organizational priorities are.”
At the beginning of 2015, about 45% of IT leaders said they expected IT budgets to rise over the course of the year. That number jumped another 5% by the end of June, while confidence that the IT team could satisfy the needs of the business rose to 74% -- the highest level since TEKsystems began conducting the survey, reports CIO.
However, sourcing IT remains a challenge. According to TEKsystems, security professionals are now the hardest positions to fill. Other recent studies have estimated there will be a shortage of 1.5 million IT security professionals worldwide in the next five years.
