The White House has announced President Barack Obama will appoint Raymond Cook as the next intelligence community CIO.

Cook currently serves as director of the CIA's Office of Space Reconnaissance and director of mission operations for the National Reconnaissance Office.
- The position was left open by Al Tarasiuk, who stepped down as IC CIO in late April.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper announced President Barack Obama’s intent to appoint Cook. “Ray’s breadth and depth of managing highly technical programs, his proven leadership and relentless commitment to national security make him an excellent choice to be the next IC CIO,” Clapper said in a release.
Before joining the NRO, Cook worked within the CIA to lead IT infrastructure, data sharing and compliance efforts.
