Dive Brief:
-
Open source software vendor Mesosphere has announced plans to unveil an array of integrated open source software that will allow enterprises to capture data in real time and analyze it.
-
Dubbed Mesosphere Infinity, the software is based on open source software for managing clusters of servers.
-
Matt Trifiro, the vendor's chief marketing officer, said the Mesosphere stack could potentially be used for things like detecting credit card fraud or could help in real-time personalization of Web services.
Dive Insight:
For enterprises to assemble the software needed to analyze streaming data on their own takes a lot of time and expertise, noted Florian Leibert, CEO and co-founder of Mesosphere. In response, Mesosphere developed Mesosphere Infinity as a "turnkey solution," Leibert said.
Trifiro added: "We noticed a pattern in heavy users of Mesos. They were all building these real-time data analytics platforms... We identified a whole tier of enterprise customers that don't want to compose these things from individual pieces."
