Dive Brief:
- McCormick appointed Guy Peri as its chief information and digital officer, reporting to President and CEO Brendan Foley, the company said Monday in a LinkedIn post.
- Peri served across various leadership roles at Procter & Gamble for nearly 30 years, most recently serving as SVP and CIO of the company’s global healthcare unit. The executive also served as P&G's first chief data and analytics officer, a position he held until 2021.
- In the chief information and digital officer role, Peri will lead the development and implementation of the company's digital transformation strategy and enterprise IT.
Dive Insight:
Peri joins McCormick as the company works to further infuse technology into its operations. Innovation and tech were two drivers of growth mentioned by Foley during a Q2 earnings call in June.
“Brand marketing, new products and packaging innovation, category management, proprietary technologies and customer engagement continue to be the levers that drive our growth,” Foley said during the call.
The company has also worked to streamline its supply chain, plugging automation into its sprawling distribution center in Maryland.
In April, McCormick inked a technology transformation partnership with Cognizant focused on customer and employee experiences. The deal included the deployment of AI tools to deliver predictable business outcomes.
“I am honored to join such a great organization with fantastic brands, people and culture,” Peri said in a Monday LinkedIn post. “Together, we will grow the business and organization through the application of digital, data, and analytics.”
