Dive Insight:
Technology and modern supply chains are intimately connected — companies see technology as a core component of their supply chain strategies. Technology can weave through software platforms at the core of resource management and appear in the cloud for real time monitoring.
In 2021, Kohl's shifted its reporting structure so that EVP of Supply Chain Greggory Barta reported directly to Gaffney, the company said in an email. "Our current EVP will now go back to reporting to our CEO," a spokesperson said.
For Kohl's the new CTO appointment comes as the retailer faces broader financial and managerial turmoil. The company recently rejected a takeover bid from retail franchise conglomerate Franchise Group, Retail Dive reports.
"I’m incredibly proud that Siobhan Mc Feeney will succeed me as CTO," Gaffney said on LinkedIn. "She has been an incredible partner and leader in our transformation. Kohl’s technology couldn’t be in better hands."
