Jason Hayman, research manager for TEKsystems, said, "Recruiting is more an art than a science, especially in IT, where job roles can vary dramatically and where the person doing the hiring may not be technical themselves."
But a few changes to the way organizations recruit — such as improving the way job descriptions are written — can go a long way toward addressing the skills gap. Hayman suggests that hiring managers, recruiters and executives work together with IT to write an accurate job description more likely to attract the right talent.
