Convenience retailer Casey’s General Stores has promoted Sanjeev Satturu to senior vice president and chief information officer, a company spokesperson told C-Store Dive in an email. He will report to Steve Bramlage, Casey’s chief financial officer.
Satturu, who had been Casey’s vice president of information technology since August 2021, succeeds former CIO Adrian Butler, who left Casey’s on March 3 to pursue a position with another organization, the spokesperson said.
An electrical engineer by trade, Satturu joined Casey’s in August 2021 as vice president of information technology, according to his LinkedIn bio.
Prior to Casey’s, Satturu spent two years as vice president of technology and operations for insurance company Traveler’s and over 12 years at machinery manufacturer John Deere, where he held positions including global manager of digital solutions; division leader of global enterprise data and analytics; and global leader of strategic planning, modernization, innovation and enterprise architecture.
Before John Deere, Satturu spent five years as an engineering leader at automotive group Chrysler.
Butler leaves Casey’s after nearly three years with the retailer. While working for the company, he provided strategic leadership for its technology and cybersecurity capabilities, as well as its digital and data analytics business functions, according to his LinkedIn bio.
Before joining Casey’s, Butler held executive roles with numerous companies across a variety of industries. Some of his past roles include vice president of information technology for AccorHotels; vice president of business solutions security for Target; and senior vice president of information technology and CIO for Dine Brands, the owner of Applebee’s, IHOP and Fuzzy’s Taco Shops.
Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey’s operates more than 2,400 c-stores in 16 states and is the third-largest c-store chain in the U.S by store count.
