Dive Insight:
The partnership allows the companies to leverage both their customer bases and promise businesses fluid migration services. A recent survey found that 70% of respondents were unprepared for downtime and additional costs related to migration issues. Now, Box can promise its customers a relatively easy onboarding experience, tapping Cognizant to handle the systems integration.
Box will also use Cognizant as its primary systems integration partner when companies sign on with Box to transfer business content from legacy environments to the company’s cloud storage system.
"Documents still sit at the core of many business processes today," Sean Middleton, Cognizant COO told ZD Net. "As clients transform those processes, Box Platform enables us to quickly build flexible solutions that leverage enterprise-grade content management, collaboration and security capabilities."
Box is working to make its products appealing to new customers. Earlier this month, Box announced that it will offer overseas clients the option to locally store information in cloud data centers owned by either Amazon or IBM, beginning in May. Box Zones will allow customers to choose where they store their data, with options in Germany, Ireland, Japan and Singapore. The company is rolling out the option to assist clients outside the United States concerned about privacy crackdowns.
