Dive Brief:
-
Cloud security company Aporeto received $11.2 million Series A round, according to VentureBeat.
-
The company is working on a "microservice application" that would build security natively into the cloud.
-
If a system is down or a firewall breached, apps can live securely in the public cloud anywhere, said Aporeto CEO Dimitri Stiliadis, according to Venture Beat.
Dive Insight:
Companies often pour tons of money and time into staying ahead of threats, with little to show for it. Aporeto wants to simplify cloud security software so it's easier for companies to manage and therefore less of a burden on the bottom line.
We can not overstate the importance of cloud security. By building security directly into the cloud via a microservice, Aporeto hopes to reassure more companies that moving to the cloud is the most secure as well as the most cost effective computing strategy.
