Dive Insight:
Amazon Web Services is investing heavily in AI to help it keep ahead in the cloud wars. For Bezos, the success of AWS has helped the company increase the use of the advanced technology.
The cloud giant wants companies to know that it is tapping the technology to not only produce sexy new products like Alexa, but also to power its basic offerings and make them more effective and more valuable to the companies that invest in them.
In fact, the future of AI may be more about just that — making underlying technology work better, faster and more intelligently than ever before.
AWS is also interested in enabling businesses to use AI more effectively. Late last year, the company announced it was bringing its consumer technology artificial intelligence capabilities to the enterprise, unveiling three new AI services intended to make it easier for developers to work with AI by offering its deep learning algorithms and technology as managed services.
